Bethany Bennett
Mini Maker Sewing
Bethany Bennett describes her self as a late comer to the world of making. Never really considering herself to be creative, she first found her passion through interior painting. Once she painted every room in her house, she decided to broaden her skill set and determined to teach herself how to sew. She bought herself a sewing and embroidery machine and set to work, quickly turning out monogramed infant clothes, tea towels, burp cloths, skirts, aprons, and much more.
In 2016, her family purchased a used pop-up camper and she undertook the task of making over the inside, sewing new curtains, painting the cabinets, making new seat covers, and laying laminate flooring. Her latest accomplishment was constructing a kitchen table from scratch that her family uses on a daily basis. One could say that Bethany made herself into a maker.
Bethany teaches the Mini Maker Sewing class which comprises the ages of 4 to 7 years old which teaching the basics of sewing. She begins her students with hand sewing projects and works them up to simple projects on sewing machines. When she is not making, she spends her time as a pre-k teacher at First Presbyterian Preschool.
Bethany grew up just outside of Dothan, AL, is the wife of Jason, and the mom to Jackson and Miles.
