Sewing, Jewelry Making, General Crafts

I come from a family of creators and makers and I have been making for as long as I can remember.  I got my first sewing machine when I was very young….young enough that making scrunchies for my friends was awesome.  After scrunchies came jewelry, picture frames, pillows, curtains, clothes…etc…etc…etc…  I just love to make and I love to learn new things.

That’s the short story.  A longer story would let you know that I’m math and science inclined person.  Even though I have created my whole life there was always a small voice that told me my affinity for math meant I was never going to be a real artist and that my creativity would never produce anything polished or impressive.  So, I mostly made for myself.  It wasn’t until college when I was taking some discrete math classes that I realized how much math needs creative thinking.  Then I got back into sewing and I realized that sewing is impossible without math.  Now I know that it doesn’t matter what level you’re at…you can make great things.
